The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Ralston Rams 79-75 on Tuesday night in Trailblazer Conference action in Ralston.
Ralston jumped out to a 14-9 lead midway through the first quarter. The Warriors would come back and take a 22-19 lead into the second quarter. Garrett Grandgenett had 9 first quarter points.
The score was tied at 31 late in the second quarter, but two Myles Simon free throws, a trey from Owen Hancock and another free throw from Myles Simon put Wahoo up 37-31 at the break.
Wahoo was able to extend the lead in the third quarter, and led 55-45 after three quarters.
A lay up from Marcus Glock and a bucket from Trevor Kasischke gave Wahoo it’s largest lead at 59-45. A 7-0 run from Ralston cut the lead to 59-52. The lead was down to 5 at 62-57 with 3:30 left, but a three point play from Marcus Glock, followed by a three point play from Owen Hancock pushed the lead back to 68-57 with 2:30 left. The lead was 73-66 with a minute left, but two Garrett Grandgenett free throws made it 75-66. A three from Ralston cut the lead to 75-69 with 30 seconds left. Free throws from Triston Keeney and Trevor Kasischke closed out the Warrior victory.
Trevor Kasischke led the Warriors with 22 points on 13-15 shooting from the foul line to go with 6 boards. Garrett Grandgenett had 18 points on 7-12 shooting from the floor, and 4-4 from the line to go with 5 boards. Owen hacock added 14 points on 6-10 shooting. Myles Simon added 11 points and 7 boards. Marcus Glock added 9 points on 5-5 from the line. Triston Keeney added 7 assists and 5 steals.
Wahoo forced 20 Ralston turnovers while committing just 10. Wahoo was 29-33 (87.9%) from the free throw line.
Wahoo improves to 11-2, while Ralston dropped to 2-9. The Warriors will host Waverly on Thursday night.
