The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Waverly Vikings 84-63 on Thursday night in Waverly.
The Warriors led just 17-14 after one quarter of play. A Marcus Glock basket, followed by six straight points from Owen Hancock and then a Garrett Grandgenett free throw, put Wahoo up 28-14. Wahoo went to the half with a 38-27 lead.
Two consecutive baskets from Owen Hancock to start the half pushed the Warrior lead to 42-27, and the Warriors would enjoy a double digit lead the rest of the game. Wahoo led 61-45 after three quarters.
Owen Hancock had a double-double with 22 points on 10-12 shooting from the field, to go with 11 rebounds. Kamron Kasischke had 14 points on 4-5 shooting from behind the arc and 4 assists. Myles Simon had 14 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and 4 assists. Marcus Glock added 12 points. Benji Nelson had 10 points and 6 boards. Anthony Simon added 8 points and 6 boards.
Wahoo was 10-18 (55.6%) from behind the arc. Wahoo outrebounded Waverly 37-20.
Wahoo improves to 14-1, while Waverly drops to 10-5. Wahoo will host Wayne on Monday in a make up game.
