The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Wayne Blue Devils 53-50 on Monday night in Wahoo, in a make up game that was previously postponed.

Wayne led early at 10-6 in the first quarter, but a 10-3 run to end the quarter, capped by a Kamron Kasischke steal and lay up, put Wahoo up 16-13 after one quarter.

The Warriors maintained the lead throughout the second quarter, and another Kamron Kasischke bucket to end the half, put Wahoo up 28-20 at the break.

Marcus Glock and Myles Simon buckets to open the half, put Wahoo up 32-22. A Owen Hancock trey gave the Warriors their largest lead at 12, at 35-23. The Blue Devils would start chipping away at the lead, and after three quarters, Wahoo’s lead was down to three at 37-34.

Wayne continued on it’s 18-2 run in the fourth quarter, to go up 43-37. Wayne still led 47-41, with 3:10 left. Three points from Myles Simon, and a three point play from Marcus Glock tied the game at 47. A Garrett Grandgenett lay up with 1:40 left tied the game again at 49. A Myles Simon free throw with 33 seconds left cut the Wayne lead to 51-50. Following two Wayne free throws that made it 53-50, the Warriors could not get a 3 to go at the buzzer, and lost 53-50.

Myles Simon led the Warriors with 12 points. Marcus Glock had 10 points. Owen Hancock and Benji Nelson added 9 a piece, an Kamron Kasischke added 8 points and 6 boards. Owen Hancock added 5 assists.

Wahoo falls to 14-2, while Wayne improves to 16-2.
