The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Bennington Badgers in the season opener on Thursday night in Bennington 60-43.

Bennington jumped out to an 8-2 lead to start the game. The Warriors got the game tied up at 10 to end the quarter.

The score was still tied at 17 with about 3 minutes to play in the half. Wahoo would go on a 12-3 run to end the half, keyed by back to back treys from Owen Hancock and Marcus Glock, followed by an Anthony Simon lay up late in the half.

The Warriors stretched the lead to 50-37 after three quarters, and would go on to the 60-43 win.

Benji Nelson led four Warriors in double figures with 15 points. Owen Hancock and Marcus Glock both contributed 13 points and 6 boards, and Anthony Simon had 11 points and 6 boards. Kamron Kasischke had a game high 5 steals.

The Warriors out rebounded the Badgers 29-23 and forced 22 turnovers, while committing just 13.

Wahoo will host Aurora on Saturday afternoon.
