The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Seward Bluejays 59-44, in the first round of the Holiday Tournament in Wahoo.

The game was tied up at 10 after one quarter. Seward took their first lead at 17-16 midway through the second quarter. The Warriors led 24-22, when they would go on a 7-0 run to end the half and go to the halftime break with a 31-22 lead.

Wahoo would take control in the third quarter as they outscored the Bluejays 17-7 to take a 48-29 lead into the fourth quarter. The lead would grow as large as 23 at 55-32, before settling for the 59-44 win.

Anthony Simon led three warriors in double figures with 13 points on 5-6 shooting from the line. Benji Nelson had 10 points and 5 boards. Marcus Glock added 10 points. Garrett Grandgenett had a game high 9 boards. Owen Hancock had 8 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists. Trey Simon added 5 boards.

The Warriors and Bluejays both turned the ball over 20 times. Wahoo outrebounded Seward 40-24.

Wahoo improves to 5-1 and will face Elkhorn North in the Finals of the Holiday Tourney today at Wahoo. Seward falls to 4-4.
