From February 5, 1988 to March 12, 1992, Wahoo High School won 114 consecutive boys basketball games. The win streak spanned five seasons and included four Class B State Championships. It began with a home game against Ashland which the Warriors won 98 - 57 and it ended when Ogallala defeated the Warriors 84 - 68 in the state tournament semi-final on March 13, 1992 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Along the way, Wahoo set the win streak record for Class B and for the state of Nebraska. The Class B win streak of 47 was broken on January 13th, 1990 with a 105 - 22 win over Fort Calhoun. The Nebraska record was set with the 79th consecutive win on February 1, 1991 when the Warriors beat Ashland 103 - 71. The streak included 43 home games, 12 conference tournament games, 15 district tournament games, and 13 state tournament games. During the streak, Wahoo outscored its opponents by an average of 36 points. The lowest point total of an opponent was Fort Calhoun, who lost to Wahoo on January 18, 1992, 92 - 17. The highest point total of an opponent was Ashland on February 1, 1991, a 71 - 103 loss to Wahoo. Wahoo's highest scoring game was 130 against Fort Calhoun on January 23, 1990; the lowest score was 44 against Elkhorn Mt. Michael on January 7, 1992. The largest winning margin was 111 points, a 130 - 19 win over Fort Calhoun on January 23, 1990. The closest game was a two point overtime win over Yutan on January 26, 1989. The last win was the first round of the state tournament, a 92 - 55 victory over Plattsmouth on March 12, 1992. There were 23 teams that lost to Wahoo during the win streak, with Ashland losing the most (9). Schuyler, who was a regular season opponent of the Warriors every year and often a Holiday Tournament opponent lost to Wahoo 8 times during the streak. Pius X had the unique experience of losing four times to the Warriors during the streak, all four losses coming in the State Tournament, two in the championship game (1988 and 1989). The 114 consecutive wins ranks #3 nationally.
