Wahoo posted its 20th win of the season by defeating David City Aquinas 87 - 43. The Warriors jumped on the Monarchs early, claiming a 17 - 2 lead in the opening four minutes of the game. The Warriors led 47 - 17 by the end of the first half and then put any doubt to the outcome to rest as Wahoo scored 22 unanswered points at the star of the third quarter and with 12 minutes to go in the game, both teams emptied their benches. As the reserves played out the game, Aquinas was able to outscore Wahoo in the final stanza, 16 - 13. Tim Bohaty came off the bench to score 10 for the Warriors who were paced by 19 from Mike Hancock, with Mike Simons contributing 18 and Greg Hain 12. The first quarter Wahoo blitz was fueled by 12 Aquinas turnovers and Aquinas coach Kevin Scheef expressed that it was tough to get into the half court, but also noted that “They play a very good half court defense.” Coach Anderson agreed, “We played great defense in the third quarter.”
