Wahoo started off with 11 straight points by Mike Hancock, including three consecutive treys and the Warriors never looked back as they dominated Aurora in the first round of the Class B State Tournament, winning 81 - 43. Wahoo pushed their lead to 62 - 19 in the third period when Hancock connected on back-to-back three’s. Coach Anderson then cleared the bench in the final period as Wahoo cruised to victory. Hancock led all scorers with 26 points while Greg Hain scored 21 and Mike Simons 10. Wahoo advanced to the semifinals in typical style, forcing 26 Aurora turnovers and shooting nearly 50% from the field. Coach Anderson summed up the Wahoo performance: “We got out of the blocks good, got some steals and some easy buckets.”
