In the second game of the season, the number one team in the state squared off at home against a team replacing all five starters from the previous year. The outcome was predictable and and literally only took a minute to confirm. Before the game was one minute old Wahoo took a 14 - 0 lead over Logan View on the way to a 104 - 46 victory. The first quarter onslaught was led by Greg Hain who converted multiple steals to layups and contributed 12 of the Warriors’ 26 first quarter points. Even with starters Mike Hancock and Mike Simons going to the bench early, each with three fouls, Logan View couldn’t stop the Wahoo juggernaut. The second quarter produced even a greater point explosion as Travis Toline poured in 12 and Louie Wotipka 7 as Wahoo racked up 33 points to lead by 40 at half. Coach Anderson stated the obvious: “I thought we got out of the blocks well.” Simons led the Warriors with 20 points while Hain (17), Josh Anderson (17) and Toline (16) were also in double figures. Logan View Coach Gary Samuelson, whose team had the ball stolen 22 times by Wahoo said, “You have to find out what it is really like. There was no way for us to simulate their team speed in practice.”
