For the ninth consecutive year, Wahoo reached the finals of the Capitol Conference Tournament by defeating Syracuse 105 - 53. As the final score indicates, the Warriors again dominated their opponent. Wahoo’s “big three” of Mike Hancock, Greg Hain, and Travis Tolien led the way in the first quarter combining for 28 of Wahoo’s 30 points and Wahoo led by 33 at half. Hancock led all scorers with 25, followed by Hain with 21, Toline with 15 and Mike Simons with 18. Coach Anderson cleared the bench in the fourth quarter, but the point production continued as twelve players scored in the game and Wahoo outscored Syracuse 24 - 17 in the period. Coach Anderson: “We’ve got several good young kids and we like to give them a shot to play with the older kids.” The Warriors forced 27 Rocket turnovers and shot a blistering 75% in the first half (24 / 32) and 63% for the game.
