Greg Hain had his first 30 point game, scoring 37 and leading the Warriors to their sixth consecutive Capitol Conference Tournament championship with a 105 - 34 drubbing of Valley. Once again for the Warriors it was over early as Wahoo sprinted to a 28 - 5 first quarter lead. Greg Hain and Mike Hancock scored 20 of the first quarter points, but it was perhaps the sucess of Travis Toline who added 6 points that was most significant. Toline was battling the Terrier’s best player, 6’7” Josh Kroupa. Coach Anderson noted, “I thought Travis showed great quickness against their big guy early and after we were able to get the big lead, we really ldidn’t have to go to him (Travis) too often.” Hain and Hancock were way too much for Valley to handle as Valley Coach Charlie Doeden commented, “Those are the two best guards in the state, no doubt.” Hancock finished with 23 points while Mike Simons scored 11 and Toline finished with 10. As the subs got a chance to play in the fourth quarter, Ryan Fiala netted six points and Wahoo once again increased its lead. It was Valley’s first appearance in the tournament’s finals and only their second loss on the season.
