Dominant First Quarter Sets the Tone
Wahoo burst out of the gate with an impressive 28 points in the first quarter, establishing a lead they would maintain throughout the game. Their offensive firepower was on full display against Trailblazer conference rival Nebraska City, resulting in a commanding 84–25 victory.

Balanced Contributions Across the Team
Coach T.J. O’Connor described the performance as a “total team effort.” Ten different players scored for Wahoo, with the bench contributing 15 points. Griffin Hancock led the reserves with 16 points, while Quincy Gigstad grabbed 7 rebounds off the bench. In total, Wahoo outrebounded Nebraska City 33–11.

Unselfish Play and Defensive Pressure
Led by Jase Kaminski’s 8 assists, the Warriors achieved their highest assist total of the season with 26. Their defensive intensity was equally impressive, forcing Nebraska City into 21 turnovers. Cody Hesser led the team with 4 of Wahoo’s 15 steals.

Three-Point Barrage in the First Half
Wahoo started strong from beyond the arc, with Landon Glock opening and closing the first quarter with three-pointers and totaling three for the period. Hesser and Hancock also scored from long range, giving the Warriors five three-pointers in the first quarter.

Continued Momentum and Expanding Lead
Nebraska City managed to score 11 points in the second quarter, but Wahoo continued to pull away. Eli Shada’s layup at the end of the half extended the lead to 51–18, Wahoo’s largest advantage up to that point.

Transition Game Takes Over in the Second Half
Wahoo shifted their focus to transition offense in the third quarter, forcing 8 more turnovers and scoring five times on fast breaks. Gigstad capped the quarter with a basket that put the Warriors up 69–25. At the 6:16 mark, Kaminski scored in transition off a pass from Shada, pushing Wahoo ahead 59–18 and triggering a running clock.

Reserves Shine in the Fourth Quarter
The final period belonged to Wahoo’s bench players, who scored 15 points and held Nebraska City scoreless. Brody Milliken added 5 points, and Gigstad’s putback provided the final two points for the Warriors.

Coach’s Reflections
Coach O’Connor praised his team, saying, “I thought our boys came out aggressive and got right to it and did what we wanted to do early. We were able to mix in some young guys and get them some minutes which was also great.”
