Wahoo vs Ralston

The 1 – 9 Ralston Rams visited Wahoo on Tuesday night and the result was fairly predictable. The Warriors won their eighth straight as they dominated the Rams 90 – 44. It was the most points scored by Wahoo this season and featured a third quarter 32 points, the most in a period this season. Ralston did show a glimmer of hope to start the second half as Cade Stix sank a jumpshot and then connected on a 3-pointer. But then Wahoo began a three-point assault. The Warriors connected on six three-pointers in the period, three by Griffin Hancock, two by Chase Kaminski, and one by Landon by Landon Glock. Cody Hesser closed out the quarter on a coast to coast drive that put Wahoo ahead 79 – 40. The 1 – 9 Rams were on their way to another loss.

Wahoo’s fire power was on display the first two quarters as well. A 3-pointer to start the game by Ralston’s Davinch Gray gave the Rams their only lead at 3-0. Then Wahoo began pouring in the points. Landon Glock connected on three three-pointers and netted 11 points in the first period. A Joey Kelly putback at the end of the first quarter put Wahoo ahead 22-10. The Warriors stretched their lead in the second period behind two three’s by Kaminski and 9 points from Hesser. Hesser scored on a putback at the buzzer and Wahoo led 47-24. The only bright spot for the Rams was 11 first half points from Gray.

Wahoo started the final period with a three-pointer from Hesser on a kickout from Hancock that started a running clock. The starters went to the bench. Braylon Pacas, seeing his first varsity action of the season scored 5 points and the reserves held the Rams to only 4 points in the final period.

It was a big night statistically for the Warriors. Landon Glock scored a career high 23 points on 5 of 9 three-pointers and 70% from the field. Hesser was right behind Glock for game honors with 21, while Kaminski netted 17 and Hancock off the bench scored 10. The Warriors were 16 of 28 (57%) on three-pointers and 36 of 51 (71%) total on field goals. Wahoo dominated the boards 31 to 16.

Wahoo advanced their season record to 11 – 3 and currently rank Class. B #6 in both the Omaha World Herald and Nebraska Prep rankings. The Warriors are in second place in the Trailblazer Conference.
