This video is an edited version of a vhs tape of the KOLN broadcast of the 1993 champiionship game. The photo to the left is a captured still of my daughters Julie and Jaclyn (I think) in the crowd during the starting lineups. Julie passed away in 2024 after dealing with ALS for three years. Wahoo won its fifth Class B State Championship in six years with a 74 - 42 win over Hartington Cedar Catholic. It was vintage Wahoo basketball as the Warriors forced three quick Trojan turnovers and scored 8 points in the first minute and a half of the game. By half time, the Warriors had built a 30 - 19 lead. Then Wahoo went on a 15 - 4 run to start the third quarter to put the game away. Mike Hancock made five three point goals to set a new tournament record (13) and lead the Warriors with 23 points. Travis Toline contributed 17, Joel Weyand 14, and Greg Hain, 11. Hartington Cedar Catholic Coach Bob Geary observed, “This is not the type of team that you come back on.”
