In 1956 the rankings expanded to a top 50 and then to a top 75 in 1957 and became a top 100 in 1958. Publicaton of the magazine ended in 1996. Jimmy Soul's "If You Wanna Be Happy" was banned by some stations because it contained the phrase "ugly woman" -- but Jimmy Soul said "she sure can cook." Cashbox had it higher on the year end chart than the other surveys -- #19. Little Peggy March's "I Will Follow Him" was written by Paul Mauriat ("Love is Blue') and was originally recorded in France by Petula Clark. It received its highest year end ranking from Cashbox -- #6. Billboard didn't recognize Elvis Presley's "Return to Sender" on its 1963 year end chart even though it had achieved a #2 weekly ranking. Cashbox recognized it as the #10 record of the year. Lesley Gore had two songs on the Cashbox 1963 list -- "It's My Party" (#30) and its follow-up "Judy's Turn To Cry" (#99). Folk music was big in 1963 and Peter, Paul & Mary placed two songs on the Cashbox year end list: "Puff, The Magic Dragon"(#24) and "Blowing In the Wind" (#39). Phil Specter's group (which had several different combinations) had three songs on the Cashbox 1963 chart: "Da Doo Ron Ron" (#51), "He's a Rebel" (#89), and "Then He Kissed Me" (#98)
