Wahoo                          60
Lincoln Christian       48

Wahoo survived a second quarter Lincoln Christian rally to earn a 60 - 48 victory and advance to the state championship game. The Warriors raced to a first quarter 19-10 lead, but Wahoo's foul trouble and a 7 minute scoring drought got the Crusaders back in the game. Wahoo stretched its lead to 26-10 in the second quarter, but with Brendan Lacey, Cameron Quick, Will Shanahan and Winston Cook all on the bench, Lincoln Christian pulled within one at the half, 27-26.

The Crusaders took the lead early in the third quarter at 30-27, but the Warriors then took over. With Quick and Lacey each netting five points and Shanahan four, Wahoo outscored Christian 15-5 to end the quarter with a 43-36 advantage.

The first half foul trouble was avoided in the second half as none of the Warriors fouled out. Both teams struggled shooting the ball, finishing below 50% for the game, and the Warriors were uncharacteristically poor from the three point line, making only 3 of 20 attempts. But Wahoo was able to force 21 Lincoln Christian turnovers and outrebounded the Crusaders 44-37. Lacey led Wahoo with 22 points while Quick and Billy Hancock each contributed 10. Wahoo's 1-3-1 zone focused on Christian's leading scorer, Justin Bubak, limiting him to just 10 points.

Lincoln Christian dropped to 19-8 and will play Broken Bow in the consolation final on Saturday while Wahoo will play for the championship against Winnebago.

COACHES CORNER
“We had four guys with three fouls in the first half, and that's tough. I'm proud of our kids for responding at halftime, going out and playing our game and making a run to stretch the lead back out. Give credit to Christian because they put up a heck of a fight." -- Coach Kevin Scheef.
