| Winning state championships is a family tradition at Wahoo High School. Five members of the 2024 champions are sons of former Wahoo title winners. Rob Brigham was a champion in 1988 as a reserve and started for the 1989 team. Jason Glock led the Warriors to four titles in 1998, 1989, 1990 and 1991 and still holds the record for most state tournament point in a career (260). Mike Simons hoisted a championship trophy in 1993, 1994 and 1996, scoring the infamous tip-in that salvaged Wahoo's title hopes in the 1996 first round. Alex Shada brought home a trophy in 1998 and made the 2000 tournament as well. These five Warriors have joined the club -- Keegan and Marcus take that medal with them. Kip, Dylan and Eli have more opportunity ahead of them to add to this legacy. Expectatiions continue. Marcus Glock: "I think they'll be really good next year. Times are gonna get tough, and they're gonna have to keep fighting. They're gonnna have enough talent. They're gonna have the coaches to do it. Obviously, it's still along ways away, we're goin to enjoy this, but I like their odds next year." |
