Wahoo welcomed Nebraska City to town for a Tuesday night game, needing a feel-good victory after dropping their third game of the season the previous weekend in overtime to Lincoln Lutheran. The Warriors got just what the doctor ordered. Wahoo defeated the 1 – 10 Pioneers easily, 70 – 23.

The outcome of the game was never in doubt as Wahoo scored the first ten points of the game, seven coming from Cody Hesser. A Nebraska City three at the 5:12 mark was followed by a sixteen-point run ending with a Landon Fye trey to give the Warriors a 26 – 3 lead. The second period was somewhat better for Nebraska City as the Pioneers were able to score twelve points, but when Dylan Simons netted a three at the buzzer, Wahoo led 41 – 15. Simons scored ten points in the period.

It didn’t get any better for the visitors as Nebraska City only managed to score three points in the third period, those three coming with only a minute left. Wahoo had scored the first fifteen points of the quarter and led 56 – 18.

There was a running clock the entire fourth quarter and Wahoo emptied its bench. Carson Kelly scored four of Wahoo’s fourteen points in the period as the Warriors posted a 47-point win. Nine players scored for Wahoo, led by Simons with 13 and Hesser with 11. The Warriors were also excellent on defense, registering 12 steals and forcing 18 turnovers. The win gave Wahoo a 6-0 record over Nebraska City since the founding of the Trailblazer Conference in 2021 and put the Warriors’ 2025 regular season conference record at 2-0, their overall record at 7 – 3.

COACH BOMAR:

Coming off of the tough loss on Saturday, we wanted to make sure we stayed consistent with what make us good, which is defense, running, and sharing.  I felt like we did a great job with that no matter who was on the floor tonight.  We also knew we had to get better with our half court offense and tonight provided on opportunity for us to emphasize our movement and continuity.  Ultimately we just came out and played hard and played together and hopefully we gained some momentum heading into a tough weekend. Dylan and Cody paced us with our scoring with 13 and 11 but really we got contributions from everyone.  It was really nice to see our younger guys come in and play with some confidence and energy.
