Season Game #: 21 / Current Record: 18 - 3
WAHOO: 25 ... 15 ... 24 ... 24 .... 88
Plattsmouth: 7 ... 8 ... 20 ... 19 .... 54
Wahoo had a rematch with conference foe Plattsmouth on Thursday night and the outcome was much the same as it was on January 30th when Wahoo dominated 98-48 in the Trailblazer Conference Tournament. The winning margin was a little less, but it was still a decisive 88 – 54 win. Three Warriors had career high games, eleven players scored, and five scored in double figures.
Eli Shada’s career high was a team leading 16 points. His big quarter was the first when he poured in 10 of those. Shada led off the game with a three-pointer scored off a fast break for Wahoo’s first five points. Jase Kaminski was also in double figures for the game (10) and he finished the Wahoo scoring in the first period with a traditional three point play. Plattsmouth responded with a driving lay-up as the clock ran out to put the Wahoo lead at 25-7.
Scoring slowed a little in the second period, but Wahoo was still able to increase the lead. A Kaden Christen layup inside the last minute put Wahoo ahead 40-15.
The third quarter was Landon Glock’s big quarter. The freshman scored 8 on his way to 14 for the game (tying a career high), including two three-pointers (he was 4 / 6 for the game). Wahoo won the battle of the boards, 42 – 25 for the game, including 13 offensive – Dylan Simons led with 10. Shada had 4 of those, and scored off of two in the third period. Simons had the most dramatic of the put-backs as he followed a miss with a flying dunk that put Wahoo ahead 49 – 20. Simons’ two free throws at the end of the quarter put Wahoo’s leading scorer for the season in double figures with 11. With the Warriors leading 64 – 35, Simons sat out the final period.
The fourth quarter was Ethan Raabe’s big quarter. Raabe came off the bench to score 14 points, 10 in the final period, including both three pointers he attempted. A Jade Maly three with :19 to go made the final 88 – 54 score.
Although Plattsmouth was able to put together some offense in the second half, the first half defensive effort by the Warriors was their best since holding Aurora to only 13 in the second game of the season. Coach Bomar note, “ I was really impressed with our defensive energy right away.” Wahoo improved its record to 18-3, recording their twelfth straight win. The victory also gave Wahoo a perfect 6 – 0 in the Trailblazer Conference regular season, with one game to go against Malcolm to end the season finale.

COACH BOMAR:
We had played Plattsmouth earlier in the year during the conference tournament and played really well. We figured they were going to come right after us right away. So we wanted to be the aggressor, and we were. We jumped out to a 25-7 lead to end the first. When we play sound, aggressive defense and move the ball on offense, we are at our best and that is exactly how the first half went, going into the locker room with a 40-15 lead. From there we were able to manage the 2nd half and give some of our younger guys more varsity experience. Eli Shada put together one of his better performances on the year with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 assists. In all we had 11 players score with 5 in double figures. We turn right back around with a tough matchup Saturday with a fun, fast paced, up and down team in Gretna East. That will be a good challenge for us as we get closer to the post season.
